If you think prog musicians are all outdated, pretentious and obsessed with Lord of the Rings then let me introduce you to Blonde Bunny. Actually to call these guys simply prog is an insult, they also take influences from pop, experimental, psychedelic and God knows what else to create some of the most original sounding music around right now.
Something deliciously menacing seems to underpin their latest track 'While We're Sleeping', it's a swirling, dreamy piece but there's intensity behind it as well. And is it me or does Toby Wardle's falsetto sound almost clinical? All I know is I love it; the songs are really intelligently written, you can never have too many synths, and the b-side 'Termite' proves that they do know how to make something under eighteen hours long after all.
