Gig Review: Adolphus Tips at The Labour Club, Northampton

A knitwear-clad four-piece named after a Michael Morpurgo novel set in (surprise surprise) WWII.

Morphing effortlessly between spellbinding atmospherics, resounding melodies and frenzied dissonance, the mesmerising Adolphus Tips treated Post Cat Core's second Labour Club outing to a smorgasbord of jaw-dropping dynamic innovation.

Irresistible vocal harmonies would embellish some of the band's most expansive areas, and then just moments later they'd be playing with such ferocity that I was almost tempted to take bets on which would shatter first: their instruments or their wrist bones.

Diverse, intimate and captivating - keep 'em peeled for Adolphus Tips's debut EP on Skin & Bones Records later this year.
